On the Iran photography tour, you will learn techniques and tips while exploring picturesque places and locations. On this tour, you will also visit the main attractions of Iran and you can enjoy highlights such as the museum, gardens, historical sites, old houses, and even more.

IRAN PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR PACKAGE DETAILS

- DAY 0 - Tehran

Arrival at Tehran International Airport. Transfer to the hotel, check in with our representative, and get ready to start the adventure.

Stay overnight.

- DAY 1 - Tehran

After breakfast, a full-day discovery of the heritage of the Iranian capital.

 

Start your day visiting Golestan Palace which is considered a perfect location for photography not only for its eye-catching architecture but also for its delightful garden. The colorful ceramics and fantastic pattern of the walls will certainly charm you.

 

While photographing the interior of this beautiful palace, you need to turn off the flash of your camera.

 

Drive to Tabiat Bridge the largest pedestrian overpass that connects two beautiful parks and is a lovely location for photography, you can see the Alborz mountains from here.

 

Head to Milad Tower which is the highest tower in Iran and gives you a unique panorama view of the capital.

 

Finish your day at Azadi Tower a symbol of Tehran where you can see its beautiful lightening at night.

- DAY 2 - Kashan

After your breakfast, depart towards Kashan, on the way visit the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, one of the largest and most magnificent tombs of the modern age.

 

You will need a lens with a high aperture because of the amazing mirror works and light radiation from all directions.

 

Now is the time to photograph the amazing houses of Kashan, Prepare your wide lenses, and move towards the historical houses.

 

Start with the Boroujerdi historical house and take dozens of pictures of the unique beauty of this large and amazing house, then walk towards the Tabatabaei house and visit one of the largest historical houses in Iran with its jaw-dropping decorations and plastering, you can not put your camera away even for one minute.

 

With a two-minute walk, you will reach the historic Sultan Amir Ahmad bath, which will definitely dazzle your eyes with the beauty of its blue tiles. The roof of this historic bath is also a very famous location for photography, so don’t miss it.

 

As the intensity of the light decreases, move towards the Fin Garden, a UNESCO Heritage site. To save time, divide into several different groups and take photos from different parts of the garden, perhaps the most beautiful part of this garden is the Qajar mansion, which is decorated with colorful paintings and the water flowing beneath it.

 

It is not an exaggeration to say that all Iranian photographers have captured this eye-catching frame. In the end, go to Agha Bozorg Mosque and capture its attractive altar, two-story building, and its big dome.

- DAY 3 - Abyaneh

The beautiful and ancient village of Abyaneh, with the unique clothing of the village residents and the stepped architecture of its houses, is one of the historical and natural attractions of Iran, which provides a suitable condition for photography enthusiasts, visit this village and enjoy photography in its beautiful alleys and green gardens.

- DAY 4 - Isfahan

First of all, make sure that your camera’s battery is fully charged because today you will be photographing amazing buildings and locations.

 

Head to Chehel Sotoun palace and enjoy taking some pictures of this magnificent garden including its old painting that date back to the Safavid era while photographing these beautiful paintings, pay attention to details such as the way of dressing, musical instruments and the way of receiving guests at that time. Do not forget that using camera flash is prohibited inside the building.

 

Now is the time to visit one of the largest squares in the world, Naqshe Jahan Square. Beside the square there are four amazing attractions around this square you should visit. Sheikh lotfolah mosque with its majestic dome and you can see its beautiful photos on the postcards all around Iran.

 

Shah Mosque with its unbelievable painting tiles which is a combination of Iranian architecture and Islamic ideas. Ali Qapu Palace with unique plastered decoration and its dreamy sealing on the 6th floor, a place where in the not-so-distant past the King of Iran used to spend his time here to have fun and listen to traditional music.

 

and finally, Qeysariyeh Bazaar at the end, where you can photograph pure Iranian art, watch everyday life, and buy souvenirs for your friends.

- DAY 5 - Isfahan

Vank church is a completely different church that exhibits a mixture of Iranian architecture and art with Armenian beliefs. Due to the low light of the indoor environment and the prohibition of to use of flash for photography, it is recommended to use a lens with a low aperture.

 

The Jolfa neighborhood, its beautiful cafes and boutiques is a perfect place for street photography. In the end, when it gets dark, go to the beautiful bridges of Khaju and Si-o-Se pol and capture the beauty of these two historical bridges in the darkness of the night. You may have the chance to see people who have gathered around the bridges to have fun and are busy singing songs.

- DAY 6 - Naein and Meybod

Leave the city toward Yazd but there are a few attractions on the way you should not miss. Shah Abasi Caravanserai, Ice House, Narin Castle, and Pigeon House in Meybod, where you can see how people adapted to living in the desert a few thousand years ago. This desert city provides unique locations for landscape photography.

 

Continue to Naein and visit the Jame Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in Iran.

 

Drive to Yazd, check in at your hotel, and go for a short walk around Amir Chakhmagh Square and enjoy its amazing atmosphere at night. The beautiful lighting of this square at night is an opportunity to photograph the architecture of this building.

Naein Jame Mosque Pigeon Tower - Meybod Ice House - Yakhchal Narin Castle

- DAY 7 - Yazd

In the morning head to the Tower of Silence an ancient Zoroastrian cemetery, a place full of Mistry and untold stories. – Head toward the Zoroastrian fire temple and visit one of the most sacred places for Zoroastrians and their holy fire which has been burning for centuries, and photograph its beautiful building which is surrounded by old trees.

 

You can take beautiful photos using reflection in the pond which is located in the center of this building.

 

Drive to Dowlatabad Garden one of the fine examples of a Persian-style garden including the world’s largest wind tower, This garden is one of the famous spots for photography.

- DAY 8 - Yazd

Visit Jameh Mosque of Yazd which is like a museum of Persian blue inscriptions then you have time to walk in the old part of the city specially the neighborhood of Fahadan for the rest of the day and enjoy street photography of this ancient city especially the lighting of its historical context at night.

- DAY 9 - Shiraz

Drive toward Shiraz and on the way, visit Pasargadae, Necropolis, and then Persepolis to spend a few hours at the most famous UNESCO heritage site in Iran and stay there and take some amazing pictures during sunset.

 

Telephoto lenses work well during this day.

 

Quran Gate is a perfect location for photography at night.

- DAY 10 - Shiraz

Start your day by visiting two beautiful gardens, Hafeziya and Saadiyeh, the tombs of two famous Shirazi poets, and perfect locations for photography, and finally try street photography at Moaliabad Street.

- DAY 11 - Shiraz

Early in the morning visit Nasiralmolk mosque which is known as Pink Mosque and see the magical lights play on its stained glass windows. Continue to Qavam Garden, a small heaven inside a historical house then walk toward the Vakil complex (Bazaar, Mosque, Bathhouse, and citadel)

- Last Day - Departure

Transfer to the Shiraz International Airport and fly out.

Photography gear suggestions:

Camera: Any camera is welcome (even your smartphone) however, for nightscape photography a DSLR or mirrorless is recommended.

 

Lenses: The kit lens is a good choice but a wide lens (e.g. 12-24) for architecture photography would be complementary.

 

Tripod: A tripod for nightscape photography, HDR, Panorama, Low shutter speed, or time-lapse.

 

Filters: Depending on the situation UV, Circular Polarizer, Neutral Density, and special FV Filters will help you create better images.

 

Cable release: Depends on your camera model, Cable, remote camera release, or wireless mobile adapter, for long exposure.

 

Lens cleaning: The weather can be rainy or snowy, also some locations (like deserts) are exposed to sand. So, a combination of lens wipes and dry-cleaning tissue is recommended.

 

Storage: Bring extra memory cards.

 

Battery: However we often have access to power and electricity, so one extra battery is recommended.

 

Clothing: Depending on the season, locations, and cities you may experience various situations and a wide range of temperatures. Night time in some places can reach -10 Celsius degrees and daytime may reach 30 to 35 degrees. Precipitation is hard to predict, but it could be rainy, snowy, or sometimes it could be sunny all the time. So, warm and waterproof clothes alongside some light spring are recommended.
