Shahzadeh Garden (Prince Garden) is a majestic and pleasant garden located in the heart of the desert which is a remnant of the Qajar period and is considered one of the main attractions of Kerman city.

 

Shazdeh Garden is one of the best examples of sloping gardens in Iran and one of the characteristics of such unique gardens is the spectacular display of water in the form of stairs and on horizontal and vertical levels.

Ganjali Khan Complex

The Ganj Ali Khan complex, which is dates back to the Safavid era, is one of the most famous attractions in Kerman. This complex consists of different parts such as Bazaar, mosque, school, caravanserai, bathhouse, cistern, and mint.

 

The central square of this complex is one of the squares to which the correct definition of the square can be attributed, and the buildings, monuments, and other elements are placed around it with definite and correct proportions. Brick arches, tiling, green space, water basin, and other spectacular works have doubled the beauty of this square.

 

The Ganj Ali Khan complex includes facilities that were built for the development of Kerman at that time, and now it forms a central and important part of the historical part of Kerman.

Fat'h Abad Garden (Biglarbeigi Mansion)

Fathabad Garden or Biglarbeigi Mansion with more than 180 years old belongs to the Qajar period. Tree-lined paths, a large pond, beautiful lighting at night, and numerous facilities such as a restaurant and a teahouse have made this historical monument a suitable place for visitors.

 

The passage of water through the middle of this luxurious garden, its four-season mansions, the tower, and the fortress has made this garden a beautiful and attractive place.

Bam Citadel

Bam Citadel is perhaps the most famous attraction of Kerman province, this unique adobe city, which is registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List, has attractive architecture and displays a spectacular example of a defensive structure in Iran.

 

The historical citadel of Bam with an age of more than 2500 years is an ancient city with a series of tall buildings and structures and walls with a height of 6 to 7 meters surround it.

 

In the morning of January 5, 2002, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 on the Richter scale shook Bam caused the destruction of about 80% of the Bam citadel. However, the renovations and restorations made the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO remove it from the endangered heritage list.

Kalouts of Shahdad Desert

Kalout Shahdad is more than 11 thousand square kilometers and it is located in the heart of the Lut desert.

Kalout (yardang) is the name of a natural complication that date back to about 20,000 years ago and were formed by wind erosion.

 

In the land of Shahdad’s Kalout, a soft wind whispers in your ear and calls you to watch the dignity of the Lut desert. If you are among the Kalout at sunrise or sunset, it is impossible to think of anything but admiration for this amazing phrase. By standing on the heights of these Kalouts, reality and fantasy are mixed, time and space are lost, and create deep and unforgettable experiences.

 

One of the hottest areas within the Lut is called Gandom Beryan, Persian for “toasted wheat.” it has been recorded as the hottest spot all around the earth planet with 70˚C temperature in 2005.

Rayen Citadel

Another attraction of Kerman province is called the Rayen Citadel. This historical castle is considered the second-largest adobe building in the world after the Bam citadel and belongs to the Sasanian era.

The Rayen Citadel has an area of more than 22,000 square meters and more than 27,000 square meters of infrastructure.

This citadel is surrounded by a wall with a height of more than 10 meters and a width of five meters, and around it, a 154-meter-long moat has been dug in the south, southeast, and east directions, which has both a defensive aspect and a passageway for rain and floods.
